What is the Perioral Filler?

Perioral Filler is an aesthetic medicine technique used to correct skin imperfections.

The therapy with fillers consists in the subcutaneous injection of substances to give volume and to model the skin: the action of these substances is to fill wrinkles and give tone to the skin, giving it a younger appearance.

Fillers are one of the most requested aesthetic treatments, being the best choice for patients seeking non-surgical aesthetic treatments.

How does the Perioral Filler work?

Filler therapy can be performed with different dermal fillers, each with different characteristics and effects.
Among the reabsorbable fillers, i.e. the substances that are progressively absorbed by the skin because they are metabolised, the best known is Hyaluronic Acid.

Hyaluronic acid is a component of the connective tissue of the skin, which has a hydrophilic behavior: hyaluronic acid has the ability to bind to many water molecules and to retain them in its structure.

This characteristic allows it to give elasticity and softness to the skin. However, as we age, the natural production of hyaluronic acid decreases, resulting in drier and less voluminous skin.

The physiological process of skin aging can be counteracted with perioral filler therapy based on hyaluronic acid.

Through a small injection, hyaluronic acid is reintroduced into specific perioral areas of the face, hydrating the skin again. In this way, the skin is given a younger look, and you can choose to enhance the features of your face, for example by making the lips more voluminous or eliminating imperfections.
