Dental implant to replace a previously extracted fractured tooth.
Loss of a tooth requires prosthesis replacement to restore smile aesthetics, masticatory function and occlusal stability.
Osteointegrated titanium implants offer very advantageous therapeutic possibilities: they allow an endosteal anchorage for the restoration of lost teeth using a fixed prosthesis, without the need to use neighboring teeth for the construction of bridges.
The modern fixed prosthesis on implants uses innovative materials with high aesthetic performance selected on the basis of individual needs.
Clinical case – Dental implant to replace a previously extracted fractured tooth.
We present a case performed by Dr. Claudio Di Gioia of prosthetic reconstruction of a central incisor lost following a sports injury.
The fractured tooth was extracted and subsequently replaced with a zirconium- ceramic prosthesis supported by an osteointegrated titanium implant. To obtain a highly natural aesthetic result, techniques of preservation of the post-extraction site (ridge preservation) and microsurgery were performed.
The images show the various phases of the treatment and the excellent result of the intervention.
