Orthodontic therapy performed with clear aligners.

Di Gioia Dental Practice has a strong tradition: it was born in 1972 as the first orthodontic clinic in Puglia thanks to Prof. Elio Di Gioia.

Since then the Dental Practice has always been a point of reference for orthodontic therapy: first with Prof. Elio, then with Dr. Eliana Di Gioia who, following in his footsteps, became a specialist in orthodontics.

Orthognatodontics is a branch of dentistry that has a more complete approach than orthodontics, posing the problem of guiding the correct growth of the bones of the face and the muscles of the region, and not just focusing on the alignment of the teeth.

Clinical case – Orthodontic therapy using clear aligners ¹.

We present a case of orthodontic treatment performed by Dr. Eliana Di Gioia through the application of transparent aligners.

Dr. Eliana, after taking the impression of the patient’s teeth, analyzed the characteristics of the patient’s mouth and then communicated them to the laboratory for the creation of the aligners.

The aligners were then given to the patient, who received information on their funcitioning: to obtain a beautiful smile, the patient must wear them constantly (except during meals), so that the aligners can exert pressure on the teeth aligning them.

1- The aligners are transparent thermoplastic dental masks made on the basis of the patient’s oral cavity impression.
